December 4, 2014 - Happy 3rd Birthday kiddos!

The kids turned 3 earlier this month on December 4th. Wow, amazing that another has already gone by! Their birthday landed on a preschool day, so the kids got to celebrate with their friends at school. They had a great time eating cupcakes, doing show-and-tell and picking a birthday gift at school. This past weekend we had a birthday party and had such a wonderful time with family and friends. Seth and I still can't believe that our little ones are 3 years old! Gosh, time sure has gone so fast. It's so neat to see how they are all becoming such wonderful, fun, witty and bright little kids! We try to remember everyday how truly blessed we are even some days just to seem to fly by. The past 3 years have been such a joy and adventure that we couldn't have asked for more happiness.

Just like last year, I want to write a few lines for each child so that one day when they look back at this blog, I hope they know how truly special they are and how much they mean to us.

Dearest Madeline,

Mom and dad can't believe what a big girl you are! Just like this time last year, you are still the tallest and biggest of your siblings. You are our mild mannered sweetheart. You are such a good girl and make being a parent the easiest job in the world. You're still our best eater and you're willing to try whatever we put in front of you. You've got a good grasp of the whole potty training thing, too. Your favorite activities are painting and playing with balls...soccer balls, basketballs, baseballs...you love them all. You are still such a daddy's girl. Dad often jokes that you are the one person in the whole world who thinks the most of him (mom and Isaac come in a close second :)). You love being with dad and you're content if he's in the same room with you. You are our little tomboy who doesn't like pink and refuses to have bows in your hair, but, we still love you no matter what. We couldn't have asked for a smarter, sweeter and wonderful daughter! We love you so very much! We can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you, big girl!

Love,

Mom & Dad

Dearest Caleb,

You are such a handsome little guy with a smile that could light up this world. You still have the best laugh that could make anyone crack up with you. You are obsessed with your Mater trucks and you carry all 3 of them around with you to bed, to the dinner table and anywhere else you go. Dad and I often laugh because you are the first to fall asleep at night but also the first to wake up in the morning. You are our earlier riser, no matter what time change occurs, how late you go to bed, or how dark it is in the morning. We call you our "little Cecil" since you're such a morning person like Uncle Cecil. You still love Thomas the Train and we have to rotate between 5 Thomas shirts everyday. You love all things boy including monster trucks, cars, tractors and trains. You love to run through the house and jump off the couch and chairs. Right now you're a momma's boy and you love being with mom at all times. You are truly a sweet, special little guy and you bring so much fun and laughter to our lives. We can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you. We love you!
Love,

Mom & Dad

Dearest Mischa,

Last but not least, our sassy, witty and too smart for her own good, Mischa. You are definitely our little diva with your princess dresses, purses, bracelets, necklaces, and tiaras. You are obsessed with anything and everything princess related and your favorite color is pink. Just like Caleb and his train shirts, we have to rotate through a few princess dresses and you love to have your hair fixed everyday. You often come up with the funniest things to say such as, "What in the world?" You make mom and dad crack up because you insist on doing everything yourself no matter how challenging the task may be and you are feisty as all get out. Your memory is amazing and you don't let us forget something if we've given you our word. You love watching cartoons on the iPad related to princesses and Easter eggs and you really enjoy coloring and playing with play-doh. Your smile can light up a room and we are amazed everyday but how incredibly smart your are. We love you so very much and we can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you!
Love,

Mom & Dad

Fall fun!

Hi there! Finally getting a chance to sneak in a quick blog post. Things have been wonderful here, but just busy as usual. The kids started preschool about 3 weeks ago. We decided to go with a small preschool near our house that only has 10 kids total. The kids are there on Tuesday and Thursdays from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm. Seth and I really like this preschool because it's a small, intimate preschool and the two teachers who run the preschool are fantastic! It's been a good transition for the kids because they've never been away from family before, so we thought a smaller preschool would be better than a larger, more institutional one. We finally didn't have any tears this past week after drop off but the first 3 weeks were a little tough, especially for Mischa. She cried every time we pulled onto the street of the preschool. Caleb adjusted the best by far. As long as there are toys there, he doesn't mind if Seth and I are there or out of sight! Madeline was a little timid at first and she did cry the first week, but she adjusted by the 2nd week. Mischa now enjoys going and is excited to do arts and crafts which is her favorite activity. She loves painting and play-doh. We are considering extending the hours the kids are at preschool in the new year but we're happy with the transition so far.

It's still amazing how fast the kids are growing! We can't believe they will be 3 in December! Gosh, time really does go by so fast! They are at such a fun age right now. They are talking non stop and so full of energy. Madeline is our little tomboy. She still doesn't like to wear dresses and will not let me fix her hair for anything! She's definitely a daddy's girl and loves to follow Seth around. Caleb still loves his trains but is more recently obsessed with monster trucks and cars. He brings at least one truck/car with him to bed each night and even takes one to preschool with him. He is still our more rambunctious one and is all about running through the house and jumping off things. Mischa is our little princess. She will only wear pink or purple and we have to rotate through a small selection of princess dresses. She like to have her hair styled each day and loves anything related to Sophia the First. It's so funny to see how different they are!

Seth has become quite the runner lately with participating in so many 5k charity runs lately. He's because popular around Reno as the "guy who runs with the triplet stroller!" I decided to do the Susan G. Komen 5k with him and the kids earlier this month, and boy, pushing the kids in the stroller is a workout! It was so wonderful to be out supporting such a wonderful event and the smiles and cheers we got from the other people was so sweet! We ended up running it in 24 minutes which wasn't too bad!

Here are some pictures from the past few weeks!
