Happy Fall!

Hello everyone! Everything has been going well here in the Klein household. The babies had their 9 month check up on Friday. I'm so bummed that I forgot to bring my camera to the appointment that day. They are all getting so darn big! Madeline weighs 19 lbs and is in the 50th percentile for weight and 80th percentile for height (she must have got her height from me and not Seth...ha ha); Caleb weighs 18 lbs 2 oz and is in the 25th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height; Mischa weighs 15 lbs 9 oz and is in the 10th percentile for weight and height...she's still our little peanut! The babies are meeting all of their developmental milestones so the doctor was happy as are we. It's been so exciting to see them crawling all over the place, pulling themselves up to standing and even using their thumb and forefinger to pick up pieces of food. I know we are partial but we sure do have some extraordinary, amazing, smart and perfect babies!

Seth and I decided to make a few changes to their daily routine these past couple of weeks. Up until recently, we were still giving the babies their pacifiers and helping them fall asleep by rocking them or giving them their bottles. Sometimes we were getting up multiple times during the night to soothe one, two are all three babies, so it made for some tough nights. Now, however, we are "training" the babies to self soothe and to resettle themselves back to sleep when they wake up in the middle of the night. The process started out a little rough. Let's just say there was a LOT of crying. Fortunately, as the days and nights go by, the babies are falling asleep on their own and not requiring the help of a pacifier or me or Seth, so we are so happy! Now when it is nap time or bedtime, we simply say goodnight to the babies, kiss them, and lay them in the crib and let them be. They are able to fall asleep on their own for the most part and that means more sleep for me and Seth! We also changed their bedtime to 7 pm so that they are sleeping for 12 hours until 7 am and let me just say it is AMAZING!

Here are pictures from the past couple of weeks! Enjoy :)

9 months old today!

Wow, the babies turned 9 months old today! I say it in every post but, jeez, where is time going? To celebrate 9 months old, Seth and I bought a set of play yard gates that we put together in the dining room in order to contain these rambunctious babies! As of recently, all three babies are crawling up a storm, including Madeline, who was the last to grasp the concept of crawling. Now she's really got the hang of it as do Caleb and Mischa. We've had several minor injuries lately due to babies falling over and bumping their heads on the wood floors so we knew it was time to finally buy a baby "jail"...ha ha! The babies don't like being contained in an enclosed space but sometimes we have no choice but to keep them in one space in order to get anything done and in order to prevent more bumps and bruises.

We've had a great past few weeks. Grandpa Lanny and Grandma Lynn came to visit us 2 weeks ago. We had such a wonderful time together. My parents were a big help with feeding, entertaining, bathing and monitoring these wild babies. Mischa and Madeline had a little stranger anxiety torwards them at the beginning but warmed up to them as the days went by. Caleb loved them from the start and, therefore, got lots of kisses and hugs. Then for Labor Day weekend we drove to North Star and hung out with Auntie Adina, Uncle Colin, and cousin Amelia. The babies had a lot of fun playing with Amelia and all her toys.

Since we have not posted any videos in quite some time, I decided to dedicate today's blog post to videos. These are videos taken from the past 2 weeks. Seth is so great about taking videos of the babies every week but, unfortunately, many of the videos are too large to upload to this blog. Here are some of the shorter videos. Thanks for checking in! We'll keep you all posted on the babies in the coming weeks!
