Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful day! Gosh, Seth and I have SO, SO, SO much to be thankful for. We truly are blessed beyond words. We are so grateful for our kids, our health, our family and our friends! We feel so very fortunate to have such wonderful people surrounding us. I am especially grateful for my sweet grandma, Nancy, who passed away this week. She loved looking at this blog and seeing pictures of the babies. Grandma, I love you so much and will miss you dearly!

With the holidays being here, I can't help but think about last Thanksgiving when I was pregnant and on bed rest at the hospital. At this point I had been on bed rest for about 14 weeks, 6 weeks of which were in the hospital. I was so lucky to have had my family and friends bring me delicious Thanksgiving food and to cheer me us with their daily visits. Unfortunately, I had started to feel pretty big and wasn't able to eat a lot since my stomach was being compressed by my little munchkins. Looking back, every bit of bed rest was so worth it and seeing my beautiful babies reminds me just how lucky I am.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving today with the babies. I prepared all of our favorite holiday dishes from pumpkin bread, cranberry chutney, my dad's famous sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, to pumpkin pie. Whoa, making all this food AND having 3 babies crawling around the house made it a bit of a challenge, but luckily I was able to get a lot done the night before after the babies went to bed. When it came time to eat our Thanksgiving dinner, I decided to let the babies go all out and try everything I had prepared. I usually feed them a main course of a puree of some form, but lately, they want to feed themselves and actually are starting to refuse the spoon! All three prefer finger foods and want to feed themselves without any help. So I let them go wild tonight and let me just say, I spent about 1 hour cleaning up the high chairs, bibs, and floor, but it sure was worth it to see their happy, smiling faces! Here are some pictures from the day.

Never too young to vote!

Yesterday was such a momentous occasion with the election being only once every four years and what a close election it was! I decided to have the babies cast their vote between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. I used a blue Obama Slurpee cup and a red Romney Slurpee cup sold at 7-11 (very official, I know). The babies had a lot of fun and I got some cute pictures! You'll be surprised with the results! :)

Blue cup = Obama; Red cup = Romney

Here are the official election results from the Klein Triplets:

Mischa was clearly a Romney supporter

There was no changing her mind...she wanted nothing to do with the blue cup!

Caleb had no hesitations and immediately chose Obama!

Who knew we'd have such opposing views between siblings? I see a lot of arguing in our future! :)

Then there was Madeline...she was undecided!

I told her she had to choose one...

...but she just couldn't decide!

Then a fight broke out at the polls...argh!

Official results:
* Mischa Klein - Republican
*Caleb Klein - Democrat
*Madeline Klein - undecided

Happy Election Day (yesterday) everyone! Hope you got out there and voted! Wow, can't believe the babies will be 4 years old on the next election day!

11 months old!

11 months old...OMG! Wow, the babies are only one month away from their first birthday! We can't believe how fast time is going by! Our little babies are growing so fast and changing by the day. On Sunday they officially turned 11 months old. Seth and I had a wonderful weekend with the babies. To celebrate 11 months, we took the babies out to eat at one of our favorite breakfast spots called Peg's. The staff at the restaurant was so accommodating of our party of 5. We had a nice table towards the back away from the majority of people and we were able to have 3 high chairs. The babies loved being in a new environment and were so curious of their surroundings. Any time there is food around, they are sure to be content! I brought them oatmeal and cheerios from home and we also ordered them pancakes and they loved them! We were prepared with their sippy cups, catch-all bibs, disposable place mats, and LOTS of napkins and hand wipes! We were so pleased with how well the babies did. They didn't fuss at all and seemed to have a good time. The staff and the people sitting near us were all impressed and told us that we were pretty gutsy for bringing all 3 to a restaurant! The babies explored everything on the table from the silverware, to the condiment containers, to the small packets of jelly and half and half creamer. Mischa managed to use those 8 (yes, EIGHT!) teeth of hers to open a single serve container of half and half and before we had noticed, she already drank most of it. A little fat and dairy surely won't hurt her! :) We managed to get in the restaurant, eat, clean up, pack everyone up and get home before their 9:20 am morning nap time. Of course, the time change definitely gave us an advantage. Later in the day, Seth took the babies for a walk around the neighborhood which they enjoyed as usual. I went to run a few errands and bought them a couple new toys to play with. Well, here are pictures from the weekend!
